THE MIGHTY ONE OF JACOB

      Isai 60:16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD [am] thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

      Here is a wonderful promise, emphasizing a mighty power. Had the Scripture said, "The Mighty One of Abraham", or, "The Mighty One of Isaac", we would not have been surprised, but... Jacob was not an ideal servant of the Lord. His battles and troubles were with himself, as ours so often are; but the Lord had redeemed him and had blotted out as a "thick cloud" his sins. (Isa 44:21-23). The Lord is just the same today, and He Who was "The Mighty God of Jacob" has blotted out our sins with His own precious Blood!

      Blessed, unchanging One, we praise and magnify Thy Name. We worship Thee and long for continual fellowship -WITH- Thee! Amen.
