A RESTING PLACE

      Jere 50:6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away [on] the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace. {restingplace: Heb. place to lie down in}

      This is surely an appropriate title for our Lord, and it has been embodied in a well known hymn, "I found in Him a resting place; and He hath made me glad." There is no rest for the weary, sin-stricken souls of men save in the arms of Jesus, the Good Shepherd. There are many false shepherds in these daZe who lead God's sheep into the pitfalls of sin and suffering, but He is always saying, "Come unto me and I will give you rest." Listen to His Voice, answer the call, and abide in Him, for He longs to have fellowship WITH His sheep.

      Good Shepherd, help us to rest our souls in Thee today. Amen.
