THE YOUNG CHILD

      Matt 2:9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was

      A star in the East led the Wise Men to a Star that shall outshine all the stars of heaven. Look at this young child! Hold fast your attention as you gaze upon His face, lying there, His eyes looking into your own inquiring eyes. Visualize, if you can, God manifested in the flesh for you. God --- the Young Child! The Creator of all things! Before whom are thirty years of human life in which He will toil with His fellow men. Mystery of mysteries!

      Oh, Thou wonderful One, as we bow before Thee today, help us to discern something of Thy devotion for the sons of men. Amen.
