"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ." Ephesians 1:3
Three times is the word "bless" used in this verse. God is a blessed God and He showers His blessings upon His people. What are these spiritual blessings in Christ? They are spiritual gifts, the blessings of the Gospel -the "good news" form God. They include the eternal purpose and precious promises of God which are to be manifested now, in the future and throughout eternity. As you read your Bible, note them. How many! How strengthening! How encouraging! How satisfying! How enduring! And all in Christ and only in Him.
How we rejoice, Oh Thou Christ of God, that by faith we are in Thee and all of Thy blessings are for us. Help us to appropriate them with thankful hearts. Amen.
