"Consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus." Hebrews 3:1
Jesus was an Apostle (or "Sent One"). He was sent with the Gospel (Good News). God sent prophets and angels to bear His messages to men. He sent Moses, the mighty man of God. But now we are looking at the Apostle from Heaven's court itself. He came to bring the most wonderful message ever intended for mortal ears: "God so loved the world!" Why did He so love it, and how was that love manifested? This Apostle did His work and has appointed us, who are believers, to carry it on to fallen men. This Apostle was faithful. Are we? We are His authorized representatives.
Help us to be Thy "sent ones" today, bearing the joyful message of salvation to those who know it not. Amen.
