"Do they not blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?" James 2:7
James is dealing here with the theme of prayer. He urges the saints not to have the faith with respect to persons, and gives them a needed lesson on partiality in our attitude toward men because of their wealth or position. The emphasis is on "The Worthy Name." That Name is sacred, "for there is none other Name...whereby we must be saved." "God has given Him a Name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow" though for some who are compelled to bow, it will be too late. In that Name we approach our Father; in that Name we have our title to the glory land.
Lord Jesus, we come in Thy Worthy Name and ask for forgiveness for our sins of neglect and ask for Thy power for service this day. Amen.
